It has been confirmed that Sweden will host the Y17 Girls World Championship, scheduled for February 21–23, 2025. The tournament will be organized by the Swedish Bandy Federation in collaboration with Gripen Trollhättan BK as the local co-organizer. The event, which gathers the world’s top young bandy players, will take place at Slättbergshallen Ice Stadium in Trollhättan.
Sweden enters the tournament as the reigning world champion after winning the most recent Y17 Girls World Championship in Norway in 2023. The last time Sweden hosted the championship was in 2022, when it was held in Lidköping.
Focus on International Women’s and Girls’ Bandy is Crucial
International tournaments like the Y17 Girls World Championship play a vital role in developing bandy, particularly on the women’s and girls’ side. These events provide platforms for young talents to grow, both on and off the ice.
