Changed schedule for Y19 Boys World Championship

The International Bandy Federation(FIB) has decided to exclude Slovakia from the Y19 Boys World Championships due to the nation’s failure to submit its squad of players by the deadline. This means that the schedule has now been changed for the championship which will be played in Sandviken on January 16-19, 2025.

FIB has made the following statement on its website

“From the beginning there were 5 teams that sent in their request to participate in the Men 19 tournament. But unfortunately, Slovakia did not submit their squad, despite reminders, to the FIB within the deadline. Therefore, the FIB was forced to exclude Slovakia from participation.”

Changes to the schedule

The decision made by FIB has led to changes in the schedule and covers the World Championship tournament in its entirety, i.e. both the Y17 and Y19 tournaments. The new game times are published on the official WC site www.bandywc2025.com and the international federation’s website.

It is unfortunate that Slovakia cannot participate, but we respect FIB’s decision and look forward to an exciting championship,” says Pierre Roos, project manager for the World Championship tournament.
